I Stand with Komen

By now, I'm sure you have heard that the Susan G. Komen foundation has severed it's ties with the nation's abortion giant, Planned Parenthood.  While I wish I could be snarky and write a mean epitaph instead of the horrible name that is about anything BUT parenthood, I will refrain.

Join me in signing the petition to thank the Susan G. Komen foundation for breaking off supporting this murder machine by visiting I Stand with Komen.  You can also see them on Facebook.

In my own humble words, on my own humble blog, thank you so very much for supporting the cause of life.

Blatently

I am nothing, if not a Pro-Life mama.  I will stand up and cry foul in the face of abortion every time.  But I simply did not realize how insidious the abortion proponents are!

A Girl Scouting tradition is in my background.  My "no time for anything" mom made time to be a leader for my troop one year.  I enjoyed the projects and camps.  But have you seen who the Girl Scouts have thrown in with?  Planned Parenthood, the abortion giant.

Look at this snippet:

Several years ago. a quarter of the Girl Scout councils nationwide admitted to partnering with Planned Parenthood, the nation’s abortion giant. When questioned about the affiliation on NBC’s “Today Show,” Girl Scout CEO Kathy Cloninger had no compunction in confirming it.

The Girl Scouts have been “pro-choice” for years, but now they’ve been caught supporting promiscuous sex for girls. The Planned Parenthood sex guide offered at that “girls only” U.N. meeting offered this advice on Page 11: “Some people have sex when they have been drinking alcohol or using drugs. This is your choice. … If you want to have sex and think you might get drunk or high, plan ahead by bringing condoms and lube or putting them close to where you usually have sex.”

Heard enough? There’s a lot more at 100questionsforthegirlscouts.org.

Earlier this month, a young Girl Scout employee, Renise Rodriguez, made the mistake of stopping by the office to do extra work on her own time in a T-shirt bearing the words: “Pray to End Abortion.” A supervisor ordered her to turn the shirt inside out or leave the office. She left, for good.

So should we all.

Cross dressers?  Boys in a girls group?  "Hot S#x" brochures?

I will not EVER let my children be involved with Girl Scouts ever again.  Period.  Not to mention that the kids' troop only get 10% of the price of a box of seriously overpriced and overrated cookies.  That $3.75 you are forking out?  The kids get 37 cents.

Is It Really Health Care When You Kill the Baby?

While I am not myself requesting you to give money to this campaign, I would like you to be aware of just how Planned Parenthood and other organizations benefit from the new "Health Care" bill.

Friends,

I have sent a letter to Planned Parenthood challenging them to tell you and every American taxpayer just how much they stand to gain from the health care bill and federal funding for abortion.
children

Planned Parenthood is the world's largest abortion provider, with an annual budget in excess of $1 billion - that's right, $1 billion - and posted an $85 million profit last year. Planned Parenthood also received $350 million in federal funding in 2007.

The number of federal government "bailouts" of private businesses over the past year is bad enough - but forcing American citizens to finance the abortion industry under the guise of "health care" cannot be accepted. The taking of human life is not health care. That's why Americans United for Life is fighting back against abortion lobbyists in the U.S. Senate. Will you join our fight today?

You can help prevent the tragedy of a dramatic increase of abortions in America -- funded by your tax dollars!

Every year, well over 1,000,000 children lose their lives through abortion in America. For decades, existing federal law has prohibited the use of taxpayer funds from paying for abortions. But now a radical change would take place if the Democrat's health care bill becomes law, our government would force pro-life taxpayers to pay for abortions.

Senate Democrats are perilously close to passing a health care bill that does not include language prohibiting federal funding of abortion; in fact, it explicitly includes federal funding for abortions and for insurance plans that include abortion coverage. If this version of the bill passes, there's virtually no way the final version will protect life when it is signed into law by President Obama.

We worked with pro-life Senators to have a mirror version of the Stupak-Pitts Amendment included in the Senate bill. But pro-abortion Senators like Barbara Boxer, Claire McCaskill, and others who have publicly stated the bill will not pass with any pro-life language prevailed and killed the pro-life amendment that would have maintained existing law preventing taxpayer funds from being used for abortion.

The abortion industry does not need a government bailout! I cannot think of a greater, more important fight than to keep taxpayer funds away from the abortion industry. I can't even imagine how many more children will be killed each year if we allow our tax-dollars to be used to end innocent lives.

We must continue this fight and get this message out to as many people as possible. Please follow this link immediately to give as generously as you can, then forward this message to friends, family, colleagues - everyone you know.

We are not powerless in this fight. We can choose to have our dollars used to protect life, not end it. So I hope I can count on your support today.

Red Envelope Day March 31

An Invitation to Participate in Red Envelope Day

I am passing this along, because I thought perhaps you would like to participate in Red Envelope Day, on March 31, 2009.

Get a red envelope. You can buy them at Kinkos, or at party supply stores. On the front, address it to:

President Barack Obama
The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Ave NW
Washington , D.C. 20500

On the back, write the following message.

This envelope represents one child who died because of an abortion. It is empty because the life that was taken is now unable to be a part of our world.

We will pray over them and then mail the envelopes out March 31st, 2009.

Put it in the mail, and send it. Then forward this event to every one of your friends who you think would send one too. I wish we could send 50 million red envelopes, one for every child who died [in the U.S.] before having a chance to live.

It may seem that those who believe abortion is wrong are in a minority. It may seem like we have no voice and it's shameful to even bring it up. Let us show our President and the world that the voices of those of us who do not believe abortion is acceptable are not silent and must be heard.

Barack Obama spoke at a Planned Parenthood Action Fund event, uttering the now infamous line, "Well, the first thing I'd do as president is, is sign the Freedom of Choice Act. [Applause.] That's the first thing that I'd do."

An empty red envelope will send a message to President Barack Obama that there is moral outrage in this country over this issue [The Freedom of Choice Act, which will essentially “undo” every law currently in place to limit abortion in the U.S. (i.e., parental consent laws, parental notification, waiting periods, prohibition of transporting a minor girl across state lines to obtain an abortion, etc.)]. It is a quiet, but clear message of protest.

I'm getting my red envelopes ready. How about you?

If you are not familiar, you can read more about The Freedom of Choice Act here:

Idaho Gets an "F". Good.

Idaho gets an F in the pro-choice world, which I am highly satisfied to report.

While this is a pro-choice site, you won't mind checking to see where YOUR state lies in the killing of innocents. Just ignore the "unconstitutional" rhetoric.

NARAL Pro-Choice America (oooh, that feels vaguely dirty. best sanitize my blog now.)

FOCA - Freedom for Whom?

President Barack Obama has promised Planned Parenthood that one of his top priorities as President
will be to sign the “Freedom of Choice Act” (FOCA) into law.

FOCA would eliminate every restriction on abortion nationwide.

* FOCA will do away with state laws on parental involvement, on partial-birth abortion, and on all other protections.
* FOCA will compel taxpayer funding of abortions.
* FOCA will force faith-based hospitals and healthcare facilities to perform abortions.

Barack Obama believes this legislation will “end the culture wars.” To him, “ending the culture wars” means eradicating every state and federal law on abortion—laws the majority of Americans
support.

You can help stop FOCA.

Visit www.FightFOCA.com and join the almost 400,000 people who have signed the online Fight FOCA petition so far.

My Husband

I've talked briefly before about my darling hubbers. He's an aggressive inline skater (think roller blades) and is very good at it. Together we own a very lucrative business. And in starting up our business he had to find a purpose, a dream, a reason. And he did.

As Catholics we abhor abortion. It's murder, plain and simple. So Hubbers had decided that his dream, his motto, will be Skate for Life. He's made up a little symbol to go on his posts on the Aggro Inline Skate forum that looks like this:

,,,
_/, ,\_
(.\_o_/.)
(.`,. `'.' )
('.` ,' `,)
_('.`,' `)
__`--'"`
Pretty awesomely cute, huh? I'm so proud of him.

Why Jesus Would NOT Vote for Obama

Infanticide. That is the practice of someone intentionally causing the death of an infant.

Obama is for live birth abortions. That is infanticide.

Please, please consider the little ones.

Read about it here, in Wordnetdaily.com.

>>snippet>>
In February 2004, U.S. Senate candidate Barack Obama's wife, Michelle, sent a fund-raising letter with the "alarming news" that "right-wing politicians" had passed a law stopping doctors from stabbing half-born babies in the neck with scissors, suctioning out their brains and crushing their skulls.

Michelle called partial-birth abortion "a legitimate medical procedure"
>>snippet>>
Jesus said in Luke 17:2 - "It would be better to be thrown into the sea with a large millstone tied around the neck than to face the punishment in store for harming one of these little ones." While he meant the young in Christ, it can be applied here, too. Babies are the young in Christ Jesus.

The Plan

THE PLAN

A.. Back off and let those men who want to marry men, marry men.

B.. Allow those women who want to marry women, marry women.

C.. Allow those folks who want to abort their babies, abort their babies.

D.. In three generations, there will be no Democrats.

Damn - I love it when a plan comes together.

Martin Sheen and SFO Mom

I read the most interesting post about Martin Sheen on Barb's blog today. He's receiving a medal from the University of Notre Dame for illustrating the ideals of the Catholic Church.

When did Pope Benedict XVI decide that pro-choice was acceptable?

From Barb's blog:

The Curt Jester provides just a few examples of how well you've done that--bashing conservatives, backing pro-abortion candidates and giving the weak excuse that you would never deny someone the "right" to choose, particularly a woman of color. (HUH? What makes them different from white women in this regard? Perhaps you agree with Planned Parenthood that these women should be specifically targeted for the grisly procedures that kill their babies.) Yes, you have worked on behalf of the poor, of immigrants, and against the death penalty--but you failed to protect some of the most vulnerable, as well as their mothers.

(Life Decisions International lists Martin Sheen among celebrities who support Planned Parenthood and/or legalized abortion.)

Remember, Mr. Sheen, you're not the President. You just played one on TV.

Amen, sistah...

It seems to me that sometimes celebrities lose track of themselves in the big picture. They aren't policy makers, important in politics (Arnie aside) or the scheme of the world. They're just people, sometimes beautiful, who learned that playing a role is something that worked for them. Amazingly, the world doesn't revolve around them! Coming to terms with that is something we all have to grow out of, hopefully around age 6!

Isn't it interesting how we promote people who are basically overgrown children into the limelight as so called "role models"?

Abortion Rates Down - Experts Confused?

NEW YORK - The number of abortions in the United States dropped to 1.2 million in 2005, the lowest level since 1974 and down 25 percent from the all-time high of 1.6 million in 1990, according to a report issued Thursday.

The Guttmacher Institute, which surveyed abortion providers nationwide, said there likely were several reasons for the decline, including more effective use of contraceptives, lower levels of unintended pregnancy and greater difficulty obtaining abortions in some parts of the country.

Well, could it be that an overwhelming reason is that women are realizing that abortion is MURDER of the innocent unborn? That it really is a life, not just a "thing", an embryo, a deformed "fish" living in there?

A human baby has a human face by the age of 6 weeks gestation. A baby has recordable, recognizable brain waves at 6 weeks. That is often before most women even realize that they ARE pregnant.

So I'm thanking God for the advances in ultrasound technology that allow 3D and 4D real time images. And also for places like the Endowment for Human Development with their FREE Interactive Prenatal Development Timeline.

Want to see a 6 week baby through a fetoscope? Look here:

Head, hands, trunk - it's all there and can move. It's a baby.

Newsweek has something to say about abortion, too. Here's the subtitle of the article:

Abortion rates have hit a 34-year low, but experts disagree on the reasons why.

So, I'm casting my vote. The fact that this is the Sanctity of Human Life week makes it all the more sweet.

My prayers to the Protector of the Unborn, our Holy Mother?

That this technology spreads, becomes mandatory before abortion, and saves more lives. That women and girls of all ages will think before "acting" in the sexual arena, protecting the lives of the precious unborn.

What If... Daily Challenge

Maria challenges us to attend Mass daily and offer up all our communions so that no soul would go to hell for that day and for an end to abortion.

Why don't we start on June 25 and go thru July 4?

While I don't make daily Mass every day, I will dedicate myself to weekend Masses and a daily rosary. Please join Maria and I in our commitments. Visit her for more information.

Partial Birth Abortion BANNED!

Praise Jesus!

With the Gonzales v. Carhart decision, there has finally been a ban on the unspeakable, gruesome, horrendous procedure of partial birth abortion!

How else can this be termed anything but murder of a living child - to be partially born and then killed?

An exerpt from the National Catholic Register:

At trial, abortion doctors were forced to admit that babies are alive during partial-birth abortion; that their hearts are beating. Doctors were forced to admit that they’ve watched babies’ hands and legs move outside of the womb before crushing their heads.

There’s trial testimony that partial-birth abortion is extremely painful for the child, that women are not told the facts about partial-birth abortion before it’s done on them, and that this violent act is never medically necessary according to qualified medical experts.

After World War II, when the full horrors of the Holocaust of the Jews began to become known to the public, there was a great outcry: “We didn’t know! If only we had known!” The trial transcripts on partial-birth abortion are the permanent public record of the modern-day holocaust of abortion. No one will be able to say they didn’t know.

Don't know what Partial Birth Abortion is? Illustrations Diagrams
I couldn't watch the ultrasound video and refuse to post it here.

The Misery of Planned Parenthood

No, I've never been there and I wouldn't send my worst enemy there. To reaffirm that belief, read this post over at The Dawn Patrol. And say a prayer or six for the women who believe that PP is the only option.

Thanks to Danielle Bean for posting of this travesty (that kind of sounds wrong, huh?).

Intercessions for Life

For the littlest among us,

That the children carried in the wombs of their mothers
may be nurtured in safety and joyful expectation;
We pray to the Lord:
Lord, Hear our prayer.

A Poetic Post for the Unborn

I've said it before and I'll say it again, so why not now? Abortion is murder. Abortion is wrong. Abortion is not acceptable for any purpose. Not ANY.

That being said, the air cleared, and my mind at (some) peace, please take a moment and read this post at Daring Young Mom. I wish I had written it.
