Menu Plan Monday - June 3 - 10

You know that song "School's. Out. For. Summer!" by Alice Cooper? Yeah, that's the theme going through my head now. I guess the upside of having the [monsters] [brats] kids home all day will be the lack of leftovers scheduled for dinners. Yeeeaaaaah, that should make them REAL happy!!

This was a Kid's Choice week - all are kid approved or chosen. And still provided a nice variety. (Good thing, too, since I'm so tired by dinner that they MUST help in the kitchen!)

Thank you, Lord, for children who like things other than only mac n cheese in the blue box.

1. Beef Stroganoff over Noodles
Lickety Split Meals, pg 133

2. Homemade Pizza

3. Crockpot Chicken Cordon Bleu
Ruby Slippers and Apron Strings by route of Bright Like the Son

4. Penne Pasta with Artichoke and Feta
(Okay, I'm slipping this one in without their notice, but they'll love it, being artichoke devotees). Arabian Knits

5. Slow Cooker Dump and Go Cheesy Chicken
And Miles to Go Before We Sleep - thanks for all your praise!

6. Doctored Up Mac and Cheese with ham, veggies, and whatever else needs eaten from the fridge

7. Shoot, it's HUBBERS turn to cook!!

yum--I bookmarked the chicken cordon bleu recipe!! Yes, my kids love that blue box. If only I could package the homemade stuff like those "Krafty" people we would be alright over here :)

Have a great week, Sara.

Count your blessings. I just hope and pray that my two picky eaters (ages 5 and 2) some day start to eat more of a variety of food. It drives a mother bonkers!?!?

Have a happy cooking week and get some rest!

Great idea letting them choose the menu. Especially if they get to eat the artichoke and feta penne!
It can be stressful having the kids around when you are busy and tired. Perhaps cooking for two days then resting the next one might help. Also next week you could involve them in some cooking, like a pizza or a cheese pie and cakes.
Wishing you peace and sanity, and a brilliant sense of humor.

Your menu plan sounds great. Great ideal to let the kids pick and choose for a week. I'll have to try that at my house. Thanks!

Hi, Sara!

I wanted to say thanks for making me feel like a real part of the blogworld...because you linked to my page...I only created my blog a few weeks ago and you are the first to link to my page...I'm so excited...isn't that silly?!?

my picky family asked for seconds of the cordon bleu recipe...I was shocked...

the artichoke & penne recipe sounds totally yum...but nobody in my family will touch it...so I'm going to file it away and save it for some time when I only have to fix something for me!!!

thanks again for visiting my blog and linking to it!

blessings, amy :-)
