Works for Me Wednesday - Sun Glasses Alternative

Even though summer is slowly drawing to a close, that big old sun is still pretty hard on my eyes. I seem to go through a set of sunglasses every few months, what with the kids fingerprinting them, the scratches when they get set down on the lenses, the wear and tear factor, and the plain ole fact that I'm cheap and have a hard time spending more than $15 on sunglasses.

It all started when Hubbers went to Lowe's and got himself a stylin' pair of sunglasses that double as safety glasses. I was coming to the end of a lifespan of my current sunglasses and was jealous that his were so cool...

On my next trip over to Lowe's - and there were a LOT at this time of my life, since we were remodeling the kids' bathroom - I picked up a pair for myself. They looked kind of like this picture here, only with black frames and blue "flames" on the stem.

The best part? Only $12 for the whole thing - sunglasses and safety glasses! No more dork in an apron with the lawnmower for me!! Now I'll look so cool in my apron with the lawnmower and these babies...

Safety sunglasses - the wave of the future. Don't forget you heard it on The Estrogen Files first. And that it Works for ME!

Oh, see this was supposed to be about brand loyalty and I just found out. So here's my loyalty plug:

Lowe's is better than Home Depot because at Lowe's:
  • they have people to help me whenever I go in
  • I can find what I'm looking for without having to take a nap while waiting for some help
  • I am not ignored as a woman in a MAN store
  • and they are just darn nicer on the whole.
So there, stinky Home Depot.

I hate Home Depot too! I feel like I need a sherpa every time we go in there to guide us through the store. My mom calls it Home Despot. I was so glad when a Lowes opened up in our town so I did not have to travel miles out of my way to go to a different store than HD.

Ditto on the depot. Clever idea.

I completely agree. The only thing better about Home Deeps in my opinion is their website...The Lowes site is hard to use, don't you think?

This is completely unrelated. I love the new look for this blog. The flowers are so cheerful!
