What Does YOUR World Eat?

What the World Eats photo essay.

Can you believe the differences in the faces of the families? Seriously, does being in the "civilized" portion of the world cause us to frown and buy only packaged junk and convenience foods?! Notice the amount of JUNK purchased, especially in the South Carolina family

What family would you rather look like?
This one in Ecuador? (spends roughly $32 a week on food)

Or this one in Germany? (spends roughly $500 a week on food)

I'd rather be the first family, poor or not. Don't they look happier, more fulfilled?

And who could spend $500 a WEEK (7 days!) on food? I'm rather pleased to say that we eat, as a family of 6 (and almost a half), on $100 or less a week. That includes pet foods, paper products, and such.

I did see this somewhere out on the web, and I was also surprised at people's expressions and what kinds of food they had around them. It was interesting to note that the more industrialized and modern the country, the more junk. (and not just the US, either). Also, check out how much US soda and candy showed up in other countries' pantries.

I hadn't heard about this before and I'm really glad you posted about it.

These pictures are a clear demonstration on how those that 'have' seem to 'need' more; how it is harder for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven.

And not only do the people in the first picture look happier, their food looks yummier to me! Raw basic foods to be eaten au-natural or prepared by loving hands are more appealing than lots of bottles and cardboard packaging.
