Handprints in Cinnamon

I saw this craft over at And Miles to Go... and loved the idea! I have some homemade cinnamon ornaments (primitive hearts, stars tied with raffia) and kid prints would make them so much cuter!

Here's the basic recipe. Head over to Bridgets' place for more great, creative ideas on sprucing up your handprints.

Cinnamon Craft Dough
  • 4 cups of cinnamon (if you can, buy in bulk--this is cheapest)
  • 3 cups applesauce
  • 1/2 cup white school glue
Mix together all of the ingredients. Keep kneading until it becomes cohesive and smooth. You'll want the consistancy of a grainy cookie dough. Dust your work surface with cinnamon and roll out the dough like cookie dough to about 1/2 inch thick.

I made these with my now 18 year old son and his sister when they were 2 and 1 respectively and after all these years, they are still in great shape and bring me so much pleasure at Christmas. Have fun with them!
