Call the newspapers! Stop the Presses!
My baby used the potty chair this morning for BOTH functions! Only a mother could be proud of poop and pee in a cup, I suppose, but he just recently started showing interest in the potty.
I'm not brave enough to let him wear the training pants (yes, CLOTH) outside the house yet, but I hope and imagine it won't be long now. He likes his big boy panties (hang-over from the girls, panties), especially the ones with the football on it!
So, who do I share this earthshaking news with? Hubbers? My MIL or Mom? Naaahhhh... I run to tell YOU, my bloggy friends. YOU, who are the sanity keepers of my daylight hours. You're always here, always on, always available. Plus, you don't care that there is no makeup on this face and you can't see that I never changed out of my slippers, much less brushed my hair. Yeah, it's noon-thirty.
Now, can you help me with letting go? Letting my baby grow up into the nearly 3 year old boy that he is?! It was hard enough when he was done breastfeeding, done riding in the sling, done cuddling unless on his terms. You'd think I would be used to it by now. BoyBoy is the fourth child to hit this milestone. There will probably be no others to follow.
In truth, I'm glad and excited to see him grow into the strong child he is, but I will always miss the baby-ness that is fast disappearing. I miss the sweet baby hair smell, since now he smells like ALL BOY.
So, there it is. The hard truth of the matter: The only thing constant is change. Just that no one told me I'd be running to keep up!

I know about all the letting go with the youngest child....got that going on here too with Little Brother. Congrats on the potty thing, though!
We used little boy underwear when potty training our guy. It definitely did the job.
Congrats.
Congrats to the little man!
You of course were entirely different. Your brother wasn't real interested right away. But he was on schedule. Grandma says, I was always too busy and when the mood struck, it was usually too late!
But, you are doing a wonderful job with a little guy when you have only had girlies with which to deal.
Love, your dad.
Congratultions to your little boy!
Huzzah for the little boy! We always used real underwear - no pull-ups or pseudo-diapers here.
And have fun with little boy "aim" after three girlies. The Boy is not so much with the accuracy, if you know what I mean :)
Congrats!
Yeah! and sad too. We are starting to feel those mixed emotions now too with our 4 of 4, who will probably be our last, though I'm not willing to commit on that yet!
