Lord God, may we, your people, who look forward to the birthday of Christ experience the joy of salvation and celebrate that feast with love and thanksgiving. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.
The pink candle of the Advent Wreath is lit today. This symbolizes the hope that we have for the coming birth of the Christ. Remember that the purple candles symbolize the penitent nature of this season.
Now would be a good time to visit church and make a Sacrament of Reconciliation, a confession. Confession is strongly urged before the Feasts of Christmas and Easter.
