A blue moon refers to when there are 2 full moons in one calendar month. I recently read that it's rare, occurring 7 times every 19 years and from there comes the phrase, "once in a blue moon."
Even more amazing, tonight people living in the Far East will view a lunar eclipse! A blue moon eclipse happens once every 15-20 years - that's rare!
