Menu Plan Monday - 23 September - 30 September

Whew - it was hard being away for so long from what has become my life life to adult chat. There's only so much Barney/Caillou/Cars one mom can watch! I'm still doing a lot of sewing, but I hope to pop in more often.

My menu. Yes, I actually have one this week - amazing, I know! We actually did eat last week, but mostly out of the pantry and from stuff already on hand. This week we're trying some new stuff!

And that new smile guy up there? He looks a little manic for me, so this may be the only time I use him.

Zucchini Vermicelli Casserole
from the Houston Jr League cookbook, not as prissy as it sounds!

Stuffed Zucchini Chicken
can you tell what I need to use up?

Onion Soup Pork Roast
Miles to Go - A LOVERLY harvest time dinner. It's cold and raining today (Sunday) and sounds like a great fall meal.

Green Chili Stew
AZMom - She's always telling me about eating this, so I wheedled the recipe out of her... (giggle) Love ya Mar!

Leftover Buffet

Mum's Meat Pie
Part of the Harry Potter theme night food article I found in the newspaper a few months back. Been meaning to try it, now sounds good.

Marmalade Curried Chicken
Hubbers LOVES him some curry, so I thought that I'd make this for him. I could really just leave curry, but... The sacrifices we make for our spouses (theatrical sigh)

As always, Laura hosts Menu Mondays and has hundreds of wonderful recipes.

Your menu looks yummy! Pot Roast does sound good. I am bad, I normally get the one from Schwans and throw it in the crock pot. Eventually I will get around to making our own. :) Have a fantastic week!

I know Honey is planning some beef stew and jambalaya over the next week or two but I may have to surprise him with the Green Chili Stew this weekend. He'd LOVE that. And corn bread. Corn bread would be perfect with that stew. Mmmm.

Aww..thanks for the plug Sara! I hope you enjoy the stew! And to T, yes corn bread is good with it! We also use tortillas with butter too!

The menu sounds awesome!

I can see why you harassed your friend for the Green Chili Stew recipe! It sounds delicious, as does the Stuffed Zucchini Chicken.

Thanks for sharing!

Tortillas with butter... that made me think tortilla chips. Ooo! Now I'm torn. Scoop the stew with tortilla chips or stick with the yummy goodness of corn bread?

Harry Potter references and zucchini to use up: sounds a lot like my house!

I guess that's part of parenthood -- i.e. watching what your kids watch. This way, when your kids talk to you about what theyMike

watched, you won't appear a dimwit.
