Salmonella + Peanut Butter = BAD

Thank you to Barb, SFO Mom for the heads-up about Peter Pan and Great Value Peanut Butter and Salmonella.

The FDA is asking consumers to destroy Peter Pan brand and Great Value brand peanut butter, because it is contaminated with Salmonella. Destroy any jars that begin with product code 2111.

You can read the press release from Con Agra Foods here.

Since we use natural peanut butter for sandwiches and good eatin', and I had just rearranged my pantry, I only had one concern - The jar I keep for baking - full sugar, full on bad, fully cheap Great Value peanut butter, courtesy of "Cousin Sam" Walton.

You guessed it - we had the WINNING number! I had to dump the jar in the gar-bahge. Well, at least we're safe.

I just put up a sidebar piece on "what is the SFO" since suddenly, many people are asking me!! Not like I mind answering, but this might be a more useful spot than the combox :)
